3,5-di(pyridin-2-yl)phenylboronic acid - Introduction
3,5-Dipyridylphenylboronic acid is an organic compound with the chemical formula C12H9BNO2.
Nature:
3,5-bipyridylphenylboronic acid is a white crystalline solid, soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, dichloromethane and acetonitrile at room temperature, insoluble in water. Its melting point is about 246-249 degrees Celsius.
Use:
3,5-bipyridylphenylboronic acid is commonly used as an organic synthetic reagent, which can be used as a ligand of platinum complex for the preparation of catalysts, fluorescent probes and dyes.
Preparation Method:
The method for preparing 3,5-dipyridylphenylboronic acid is usually obtained by the reaction of 3,5-dibromopyridine and phenylboronic acid. First, 3,5-dibromopyridine is reacted with phenylboronic acid in the presence of an anhydrous catalyst in a suitable solvent to give 3,5-dipyridylphenylboronic acid. The reaction needs to be carried out under an inert atmosphere, and the resulting product is purified and isolated by appropriate methods.
Safety Information:
3,5-bipyridylphenylboronic acid is generally stable under normal use conditions and has no obvious safety hazards. But still need to pay attention to avoid inhalation, skin contact and ingestion. Appropriate protective equipment, such as chemical goggles, protective gloves and laboratory clothing, should be worn during operation. In case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical help. If inhaled or ingested, immediate medical attention is required. At the same time, should be properly stored and away from heat and combustibles. In addition, the rational disposal of waste and residual substances, to avoid pollution to the environment.
